On select afternoons, weekends, and holidays, Bright Mosaic opens its doors to clients and siblings. That way parents can rest or take care of the million other things in their lives. We call this respite.
Caring for a child with autism can be incredibly rewarding, but at times it can also be exhausting. Many parents get so busy juggling their child’s therapies and other needs that they often forget to take care of themselves.
It’s an old saying that you have to take care of yourself before you can care for others. Respite allows parents to run errands, go to their own doctor appointments, go out with friends or a spouse, or heaven forbid, just rest.
Weekend Workshops
On other weekends, our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other guest speakers host informational events about autism, therapy methods, and general parenting tips. These weekend workshops resemble parent training sessions, but these usually occur at local libraries and other public spaces so the entire community can attend.
